You’ve said just what I’ve been thinking for almost a week now with one exception– Rachel Ray should file a restraint of trade suit against Malkin. The Fox thugs tend to forget that they get away with telling outright lies about political figures because of generally sensible laws that prohibit members of the government from punishing the public over criticism. Trying to turn Rachel Ray into a political figure, however, doesn’t make her one; not legally and (come on, now) not aestheticly. Being a spokesmodel is one of the two things (that we know of) that she does to make money. Tainting her bankability for make-believe news purposes is definitely actionable ( see Carol Burnett Vs. The National Enquirer; remember the spectacle of having to drag Henry Kissinger away doing something important just to say, for the record, that Burnett wasn’t drunkenly spilling things all over him at a formal dinner?).

LOL, No, I hadn’t heard about this, but you’re right on target: I vote to have you to take Malkin’s place on Fox…but then again, you probably aren’t a right-wing assh***. Nice post.
