Jurassic Park 4 is dead, long live Jurassic Park. With the death of popular author Michael Crichton a few weeks back, producers Frank Marshall and Kathleen Kennedy announced that the movie, which has been in development hell for years, is officially dead. So said Kennedy:
“No… I don’t know. You know, when Crichton passed away, I sorta felt maybe that’s it. Maybe that’s a sign that we don’t mess with it.”
OK, so it may not be entirely official, but again, with Crichton’s dead, it does only seem fitting to use that as an excuse to do away with this unnecessary sequel. While I would have undoubtedly enjoyed going to see another Jurassic Park movie, I must say that this was a franchise that didn’t need a ton of sequels – and thankfully, it never turned into a direct-to-DVD franchise, either.
The first one is classic – I watched it six times in theaters. I still don’t know why or how I did that.
The second one, The Lost World, I enjoyed initially, but struggle watching it now a bit more. Still, as far as mindless entertainment goes, it’s pretty enjoyable.
The third one, Jurassic Park III, was terrible. Despite starring William H. Macy, the movie was full of stupid characters, repetitive storylines and cliches. Completely unnecessary, and a sign that a fourth one was just not a good idea.
As Forrest Gump would say, That’s all I have to say ’bout that.

you guys are incredibly stupid for even saying that the third jurassic park was terrible. I thought it was alot better than the rest so screw you guys.

Thanks for that intelligent remark. Saying that Jurassic Park III was better than the previous two speaks words to your wisdom.
