As for the interesting, unknown movies… I completely agree. But these kinds of lists usually reflect the big ones that generally already have trailers available. The smaller films and others not mentioned here often end up becoming the best of the year, but it’s hard to get as pumped up for them ahead of time.

It rarely works out. Granted, Notorious has nothing to do with that phenomenon but anytime I see "rapper" and "movie" associated together, my instant reaction is that it's going to suck. And Notorious basically just looks like a glamorization of a lifestyle that got BIG killed. I liked 8 Mile, but didn't like Get Rich or Die Trying all that much - or at least I didn't like 50 Cent in it.
