Ah,Wolverine. Where does one begin? This movie was just plain awful, and the more I think about it, the more I hate it. It’s sad when such a movie exists that I would rather watch X-Men 3 ten times over before seeing this stinker again, and X-Men 3 was no walk in the park.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine continues its downward slide, falling another 44% to earn $14.8 million this weekend. To put it another way, despite opening $10 million higher and a week earlier, its $151 million domestic box office take is only $4 million higher than that of Star Trek, and it will be surpassed and left in the dust midweek. Had Fox and Marvel actually devoted some time to make this movie good, this might not be happening. (more…)

The movie trailer for Pandorum is now online. The Dennis Quaid-starring movie comes to theaters on September 4 (you know it must be good!), and is described as:

From the creators of the Resident Evil film franchise comes Pandorum, a terrifying thriller in which two crew members wake up on an abandoned spacecraft with no idea who they are, how long they’ve been asleep, or what their mission is.  The two soon discover they’re actually not alone — and the reality of their situation is more horrifying than they could have imagined.

Midnight Meat Train looked like a pretty freaky and gory movie, but didn’t get much play in theaters. MovieWeb, however, has posted the full movie online:

My friend Jessie forwarded me this video the other day, called the Sarah Palin Song. The video is basically two (very bad) singers serenading how ridiculous Sarah Palin is, and I tend to agree. Anyone who describes the Vice President’s job as “in charge of the Senate” (and no, not just to 3rd graders) and doesn’t believe the dinosaurs existed just shouldn’t be in any office of power. I wouldn’t have nearly as much of an issue with John McCain if he had picked another running mate, but since he went with the Republican token female who refuses to do interviews (though I don’t blame her after the Katie Couric incident), I couldn’t possibly vote for him: after all, the risk of him dying and Palin becoming the most powerful person in the world is just too great.

So come on, people. Vote for Obama. You may not agree with all his policies, but few would disagree that he’s a smart guy. I know that’s not enough to warrant becoming President, but even you Republicans have to be hesitant about a McCain/Palin presidency. Anyway, here’s the Sarah Palin Song:

Watch the funny new R-rated “teaser trailer” for Zack and Miri Make a Porno, the new Kevin Smith movie coming to theaters this October. The video isn’t as much an actual teaser trailer but a series of clips of Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks attempting to cast their porno. Warning: there are swear words, so if you are for some reason offended by such words, don’t watch.

Brendan over at Empire Movies posted this video, calling it possibly the best of the Andy Samberg shorts. I’d have to disagree with that, but the video is still pretty funny.

I am a supporter of Barack Obama; I think Hillary Clinton may be a better President, but Obama has a few things going for him. He is more electable. Clinton divides, whereas Obama bridges the gap. This is both good for winning against McCain, and for the nation in general. That being said, Clinton just found a way to get her message to spread virally on the Internet; I have to imagine this political ad is going to wind up all over the place…

The Jack Nicholson political ad, which has Nicholson supporting Hillary Clinton, takes blurbs from some of his most memorable roles and twist them into support for what Clinton. The Joker, the guy from The Shining, and several other Nicholson characters are shown off and on with political messages intertwined. It’s a clever ad, though I have to question whether it’s smart to have Nicholson’s most psychotic characters voting for Clinton. After all, does it mean you have to be crazy to throw your support behind here?
